Hi,
you can even sex them at 2. instar already by counting pectinal teeth. You would need a binocular though. Otherwise you can sex them as soon as you are able to count their pectinal teeth. Males should have around 30 - 33 and females around 25 - 28 according to my experience, Vachon gives 30 - 38 for males and 22 - 29 for females.
