While at NARBC this last weekend I purchased 3 stripe tail scorpions. I'm wondering what kind of substrate I should be keeping them in? Also do I need to provide water for them or do they get all required water from their prey? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

All of my species, except H. arizonensis, are kept on plain topsoil.
Yours are an arid species, so the sub should be kept dry. Peat, topsoil or plain eco-earth is good, you can mix in a little sand but not too much.
They sometimes burrow, but normally make scrapes by rocks and such.
Definitely provide a water dish as they occasionally need a drink.
I might be mistaken, but I thought these were classified as Vaejovis spinigerus.
