My son adores his insect and arachnid family. Through fault of an unknowing guest in our house we think a hissing cockroach has escaped. Today he went to play with them, feed them, etc, and one is not in the tank. We have searched high and low in the room that she disappeared from.

Is there a safe trap or way to find Dr. Fox? He has cried for about 3 hours today and I just want his beloved mama cockroach back....

When they get loose, they like to hide in cracks, so open doors and look around the door frame, I often see them there when they get loose. Look under desks, in closets, etc. Looking at night with an LED is good to try, look on walls, up in corners at night.

For the next time, put Vaseline on the sides of the cage. Cockroaches cannot walk on it, so it prevents from them to escape...

Look around where your heat sources are too, any machines that make warmth. Try leaving out bananas too, they love them, make a trap with vaseline.
