Hermit Crabs at the Beach

    We were walking on a rocky stretch of beach and came across 100s of hermit crabs. I've never seen so many at once.

    nice in california all we have are those small aquatic hermit crabs.
    In costa rica they have some pretty big land hermit crabs though.

    Yeah, those were some of the bigger ones we saw. In some places, there were 100s of tiny shells moving about. We went back on a low tide time later in the week and didn't see any. I still don't know what was going on that day. Maybe they were breeding or something...
