Help!

I had a lot of mealworms from an AP class. I was slowly starting to feed them to my cockatiels, and I now have a beetle. I never saw a pupa but I found this beetle walking around. It's been about 8 hours and he won't eat carrots or the Turkey they he used to eat as a larva, and I'm worried he's going to die. I've even offered him some cuts from a few of my indoor pepper plants.

They need some time to harden. Wait until it is completely black. I would also move it.
