Harpactira sp. golden black is a South African tarantula (as are most others in the genus, with the exception of H. namaquensis which also can be found in Namibia). They are heavy webbing, fast growing, and generally have fossorial tendencies (especially when young). My understanding is the sp. golden black was originally collected in the area of Danielskull, SA, and is one of the smaller members of the genus (adult size of around 4" or 5" DLS).

Its an undescribed dwarf species ( 3" max) that is darkish brown with a tinge of yellow markings on the abdomen. In the wild they borrow or form scrapes under rocks.
