Are hairless rats good pets to own? Every rat I keep ends up with health issues and I was wondering if it was worse for hairless rats.

Hairless rats do have more issues as far as skin goes. They are more easily scratched, it is also more important to keep them warm and to clean their ears more frequently as they do not have hair in them. Other then that, they do not live shorter lives. What kind of health issues are your rats getting?

Unfortunately rats do not live long, 1-3 years is usually what you get. They can live to 5 but that is very very rare. Generally they die from cancer or complications from repeated respiratory issues.
