Going on vacation--any scorps?

I'm taking a trip down through Virginia to North Carolina. I know that a sp. of Vaejovis lives in NC, but are they concentrated to the east or the west? I'm actually going to the "Outer Banks," a small sand barrier island. Is it possible there are scorps on the 'island?' Also, are there any sp. of Vaejovis (or any scorps at all) in Va? If the answer is yes to either location, where should I look? The island is entirly sand, though there are sand dunes in places, swamps in others, and even what looks like savanah. Any clues? I'm leaving tomorrow, so it's kind of short notice, but I was just wondering.

Thanks,
Peace,
Chris

Chris,

Apparently you can find Vaejovis carolinianus in both NC and VA. That being said, I have no idea as to localities etc.

Cheers,
Dave
