I think semi-claustral ants look more like the workers, the gaster will be smaller than that of a fully claustral queen.

Smaller gaster, larger "neck" region (for lifting insects). You can also usually tell by subfamily--ponerinae is almost always semi-claustral, for example, while formicinae and myrmicinae are almost always fully claustral.

Finally, most common ant species are fully claustral.

What sp is she? Ive had a few semiclaustral sp such as psuedomyrmex, and cephalotes, both were ratger difficult to keep especially the psuedomyrmex. That thing was very aware of everything goung on around it and was very highstrung, it laid an egg and then tried to escape when i fed her abd i accidentally smashed her with the lid to her test tube.
