because i forgot my formiculture account, i gonna ask this question here. how do you tell between a fully claustral ant between a semi claustral and?
Smaller gaster, larger "neck" region (for lifting insects). You can also usually tell by subfamily--ponerinae is almost always semi-claustral, for example, while formicinae and myrmicinae are almost always fully claustral.I think semi-claustral ants look more like the workers, the gaster will be smaller than that of a fully claustral queen.
