Close enough to call it a shoe anyway. Imperial moth, kept some eggs also, confident they're fertile, see how that goes.

Me too, I kept more than a few eggs, never raised this sps. but I raised a few of the other ones. The big caterpillars are interesting to me. My 82 year old dad grabbed a caterpillar when he was hunting in spring, turned out to be a male though. Then I found this, kinds weird it fell on my shoe.
