Forest Scorpion Help / Dying or Gravid ?

Hi everyone I was wondering if I could get some advice please, my forest scorp was with a male until he died last year but has always been in good health etc.

Last night we found her with her tail slightly buried in the earth and her abdomen swelled but still alive and in threat posture mode when moved.

Is she dying or gravid ?

This is a relatively new change to her as well.

Does not look good. That substrate does not look good either. Should be several inches of moist coco fiber or soil.
