How do you all keep fleas off of your dogs without using the typical treatments? I read posts talking about dawn dish soap but that has. It been working for me

For dogs you can simply use pills. There's Bravecto, for example. Pill inside of dog = no danger for tarantulas.

Other than that, not all flea treatments are created equal. If it works against mites and ticks it also poses a danger to spiders, if it doesn't work against mites and ticks it is pretty safe. I've been using Advantage on my cats for years without problems, and I've plenty of cats and plenty of spiders and they share the space in my living room. I've only had trouble once when I got 2 cats from a shelter that had been treated with one of the modern 'one medication against everything' spot ons without my knowledge. That did lead to several tarantulas exhibiting signs of poisoning ("DKS") and a few of them dying.

Thank you for that awesome reply! I always thought that the pill would still pose a threat. Thanks again.
