Hello all,
I need to collect some rotten oak wood for larvae I am raising but there is one issue, I'm not sure how I can tell rotten oak from any other rotten wood. A few weeks ago I collected some rotten wood that seemed to look reddish and had many holes from insects all over it. Is this a good sign that the wood is good to use to feed larvae? This is mainly aimed at beetle breeders who have raised larvae. When I get home I will post pictures of the wood I collected and maybe someone can tell me what it is.
Thanks,
Beetle666
