I need to know if rubber cement of hot glue would be safe to use in a tarantulas enclosure, and if they would work well in holding things in place.

Dose anyone use astroturf or any fake grass like stuff in their tarantulas enclosure?

Ive used rubber cement in the past, in lieu of Silicone, and it worked well. It does pool so a second coat might be needed. Hot glue is completely safe.

Never used fake grass or astroturf. You can go to most dollar stores for fake plants. Either plastic or fabric will do. I always sterilize them before putting in the enclosure. About 10 minutes in a 20% bleach solution, and then letting it sit under a hot tap for 10-20 seconds, and finally 24 hrs to completely air dry.

I would go with hot glue, dries almost instantly without the smell that rubber cement has. Ive never used fake grass before but I have used silk plants. Ive never sterilized them though.

I use hot glue all the time and have had no problems. What are you planning on using the fake grass for?
