so a while ago i bought 3 bricks of dried eco earth to use as substrate for my scorpion. the plastic tub is brand new, the hide is made of clay and the eco earth was obviously dry. ive got a mesh lid on the enclosure yet somehow ive got woodlice in the enclosure? how is that possible? the lid is always sealed apart from the once a week maintenance and everything was sterile before hand and i used boiling water to soak the eco earth. how can the woodlice of got in?

Never had an issue with their product, but who knows.... Inverts usually come in through holes in the container, don't know what your locality is like.

Isopods are a bonus. As are many other small critters people freak out about.

I'm not freaking out. I know they're a massive bonus I'm just curious how they managed to survive boiling water and pass through wire mesh

I've had sprigtails just seem to "appear" in an enclosure before, but not isopods. I'd love to have isopod cultures that start all by themselves, though.
