DO Longtailed lizards need UVB?

So i just found a longtailed lizard baby in my back yard, and i read some care tips. They all said that i should use a UVB, but i couldnt find any evidence that they Actually need it. I Understand they need heat, but do they really need A UVB Lamp? The problem here isnt the cost, i love making aquarioums and DIY enclosures, but the thing is, why waste the money, when i dont need the uvb lamp, and waste a few more dollars for : cables, a lamp stand, A Mesh screening, Screws and a screw driver, when i can just buy an acrylic box,install a heating pad, drill a few holes and decorate it.

Forgot to mention that i WILL supply them with Calcium + D3 (Phosporus included).

All diurnal reptiles need supplemental UV except for snakes.
