I hope that everything goes well with your Chaco's molt.:)

Am always worried myself when one of my bigger ones molts. Especially my adult B. smithi gal. She's very special to me.

When the little guys molt, it looks so easy & effortless, but when
the big guys molt, one can really see the amount of effort & time it takes for them to change their "clothes."

So true. I came home from work yesterday to find my big A. geniculata on her back. She was about five inches yesterday. This morning she's right side up and fine. Let us know how your chaco does. John

Molting

is one of the most amazing things a theraphosid does! So I know how you feel!

I absolutely love the way they look all shiny and full of color during the months directly following a molt! :)

well she did it without a hitch.

one of the colest things I have ever seen.

I even saw her roll on her back

she left a bit of what I assume is T-blood on her molting mat and the exuvia took a while to dry as well. I easilly saw the leaf-like progection of the epigastric furrow, awsome.

afterwards I tried to pick her up but for some reason she flicked hairs at me.

I tried it again the next day and she was back to her old self, sweet as sugar.

It's been my experience they can be a little testy for up to 2 weeks after a molt.

That's really funny, since my 6" chaco is on her back right now too. I hope she will be fine.
