In late Early August, I captured about 20 local Cotinus nitida Green June Beetles in hopes of raising a colony of them. I followed basic care guidelines for most other small scarabs and flower beetles, and yesterday I found my first Grubs! They are already about 1cm so I assume that they've actually been in there a while, but where too small to notice. I was able to find about 13 grubs, so I assume there is a pretty good population of them deep in the substrate.
They are interesting in that they crawl upside down at all times. It's really quite cute. I'll upload some pictures.

Hey, congratulations! It's such a great feeling when you discover that first batch of grubs!
