Frankly, a shipping ban would not be of much effect! Shipments inside the EU are not controlled via customs, so nobody will ever notice if you buy a scorpion from a private seller from the EU.

You know what I meant by what I said. I have kept scorpions for over 10 years now. As long as I am looking after them properly is that not the main thing? At the end of the day dogs are mistreated all the time. However the animal welfare people aren't looking for a ban on all dog ownership just because of a few mindless idiots. So why should all exotic pet keepers be targeted.

I certainly see what you're saying, but be careful about making a generalization like this...this one seems logical, as both are kept as pets, but there could be a twisting of this reasoning very quickly...a bit of a tangent, yes, but I thought I'd say something...I agree very much with Brian's (Olsin's) two posts, and would emphasize that one shouldn't worry too much. Enjoy the hobby and take care of the animals!
