Does anybody have any in info on this species? There seems to be very little information about it and I have been offered one. I imagine care shouldn't be any different to the other Buthids from Israel etc, but I would specificaly like to know what it's temprament is like and how venemous it is.

Yes it will likely (since they are the ones mosts commonly collected) be one of the subspecies of C. werneri, if its from Israel. Either C. werneri werneri or C. werneri schmiedeknechti. Compsobuthus are very hard to ID correctly. They are not at all aggressive and are very timid, too small to cause any real harm.

Hi Oliver,

I thought the species C. acuticarinatus was pretty dangerous:?

I think the sting is quite painful and the venom potent, but the members of this genus are small to very small, so I do not think they could really harm humans greatly.
