Hi all,
My Red Tail, who is a very pale variant, has what I think are, unusual eyes. Occasionally, when I'm holding him, his eyes are solid black.
Usually, they'll change back to normal appearing snake eyes.
I'm not sure if this is normal but, I never noticed it before in my Cornie, my Ball or any other snake I've had.
Is this normal? I've also noticed, his eyes certainly move about alot, for a snake. Not that I'm thinking snake's eyes are stationary.

Any ideas?
Thanks...
Peace, light & eternal love...

I've seen it in my other snakes as well. It's just their pupils expanding and contracting to control the amount of light that enters their eyes, just like ours do.

Bry,
Thanks..:) Still, its really cool, in a freaky sort of way. I'm wondering if, the size of pupils is also correlated to their given emotions? My Red Tail's pupils will expand and contract rapidly, if he gets frightened or, is feeling defensive. (I came to this, by his body posturing)
