I would like that...

....it would help to keep the loose cricket population down!

Another great example:

<Edit>: Funny story about the above scorpion. After I took the pics, I put it in a cup and left it on the counter. My mom grabbed the cup and went to get a drink of water. When she realized the cup wasnt empty, she threw a fit, screaming "They are in our god damn cups now! They are everywhere!" It was hilarious, she didnt know that I was the one who put the scorp in the cup, she thought it had crawled or fell in there. {D

hehe, i would love to find a vittatus in my sink. I wouldn't have had to spend so much money buying them from the pet store.

did they escape out of your tank or do they just visit you on odd occasions?

They are not escapees. Those are wild scorpions who have found their way into my house. Centroides vittatus is a native species, and we find them all over the place.

Are they deadly?
Not even close. I have been stung several times, and all it causes is a bruise.

Our Yorkie got stung last year, and she just swelled up a bit. The only one with a bad reaction is my dad, it puts him in the hospital. Though, I think he was stung by a C gracilis not vittatus.

Interesting. One more reason to add to my list of "Why I don't care to live in Texas". ;)

Although we did find an adult female Dolomedes tenebrosus in our dishwasher as well. How it survived that and the drying cycle is beyond me.

The cup story is funny as snot though. LOL
