Centipede Anatomy

My boyfriend watched his centipede cleaning itself last week, after a moult.
he saw a small white tubular object appear from the rear end of the centipede. it was cleaned, then retracted.
what was it?
sorry for the poor description, but he only saw it for a few seconds

could be a hemipenis?

i seem to remember it from reading about centipedes, i'll have to check it out again

the hemi- part means half literally, but usually seems to mean two in animals
