Catching tactics for foot hunters?

Specifically for wolf spiders, does anyone have certain tactics? Not in the finding part, but the actual getting them in a container part. I spent fifteen minutes trying to catch a female wolfy only thing have her scurry to a unreachable place

If the ground is flat enough, I put a container over the spider and then slowly slide a piece of stiff cardboard or thin plastic under the spider, so that it is contained.

For rougher terrain, you can lay the container on its side and try to herd the spider into it. (Wolf spiders tend to move forw
