Back to the discussion, I'll say it again- Cat litter IS NOT MADE TO BE TARANTULA BEDDING! Its made for cats to CRAP on! I dont know what the discussion is. would you wanna live in a septic tank, even if it was unused? I know i wouldt, people CRAP in there.

The saying "theres the right tool for every job" comes to mind here...
