I have no idea but it looks like one of those wasps which lays eggs inside tarantulas in the wild.

Jeez....thats a creppey lookin thing to have wings!!!! :eek: How big is that monstorcity? Th thing looks huge, where do you live?

Male Dobson Fly?....the larva of the dobson fly is called a hellgramite(sp?). When I was a kid the hellgramite was the holy grail of fish bait IF you could find one and had the gnads to put it on the hook.

Buspirone is right. The odd thing is the males look more fearsome but those jaws are all show. It's the females you've got to watch out for.
