Hey, recently got a C. versicolor sling (first sling ever for me) and I was wondering if its in a premolt or not? I've heard that most (some?) species abdomen darken when closing in on a molt and the abdomen seem a little dark. Could just be the species coloration but im new to the species. Thanks in advance!

With that booty and if it has stopped eating as well, I'd say definitely premoult. ;)

To be fair, this species doesn't really show many obvious signs of pre-moult beyond refusing food and closing off the entrances to their web tubes, and they don't always do the latter.

For me, refusing food is usually a good enough sign that a moult is upcoming.

Yeah, t's in general is quite a guessing game, they usually dont show much. I'll just have to wait and see what happens. Thanks for the advice!

The fixation on pre-molt knows no bounds. I cannot figure this out at all.
