why are MM so rare? I’ve been looking for one for a while and can’t find one. Seems pretty common to find slings and females I wouldn’t think it would be an issue finding a male. Is there some kinda ban on the species or some factor that I’m not aware of that makes them rare?

Definitely no ban. Not sure why you’re not having any luck.
And I can’t find a female for my male C. schioedtei! Poor guy.
Well, I found one female, for one of my males. But this is my second male. So maybe I’ve saturated the market.

I think a very Anti-male attitude throughout the hobby is the most likely thing to blame, as well as many not wanting to be a part of breeding.

Edit: Just out of curiosity. what are you looking for?

Edit edit: Nevermind. its in the thread title. :banghead:

Somebody actually just stole one of them from a local pet store here... (I hope it bites them)

Some species are like that, for whatever reason. Pterinochilus lugardi is one I have had trouble with over the years finding a male, and now I finally have one. You just have to raise multiples and hope you get a male!

Yeah, its funny, the average collector gets a bunch of slings in hopes of a female....breeders get bunches in hopes to get males.
Ha, I had never thought of it before, but you are absolutely correct!
