ok, short of grabbing a microscope, sedating the specimen, and counting every single little trichobothria etc., is there a way to identify a Centruroides as being one or the other? it is extra puzzling to me because they come from very similar/the same range, and they each have a wide variety of color morphs that make it oh so very confusing! so how do i tell the two apart?

visibly, not easily
best you can do is check the number of denticals
C. margaritatus have 8 denticals
C. gracilis, iirc, have 7
