    I have a great dilemma

    choices: B baumgartenei (40$), B emilia(50$), E.sp red(25$), G pulchra(50$), G pulchripes(25$)

    i have a budget of 100$
my original plan was 2 E.sp red and 1 G pulchra
    any suggestions?

This is all personal preference and all of those are great really. But if it were me I would make sure I kept the G. pulchra on the list. I just think they are awesome. And the E. sp red is great too. I like your plan.

Depends on whether you want the maximum number of Ts Haha. I'd definitely get an E. Sp Red or two, and I'd rather have the two Brachys than the G. Pulchra or Pulchripes, for their colors.

    G. Pulchra definitely a must have imo. B. Emilia is also pretty cool. Those are the two I own out of your options and what I would go for again if I had to make the choice.
Who needs color if you can have a nice shiny black :D?

Ya G pulchra is prob the one i get for sure, but if i only get one i have less chance of a female haha, i could get 2 G.pluchra.. haha

That's the option of go for , g pulchra are so awesome ! Sliw growers I've heard but so are the e reds.

I recently had to make a similar choice. I went with the emilia.

However while all are good choices for different reasons, getting two increases your chance of getting a female. So, two E.sp red an 2 G pulchripes would be a good choice.

But, don't listen to us....go with your gut. Your first choice is great!

You can keep looking and probably find a young confirmed female of a few of those species for $100ea rather than spending the time to raise them up hoping one is female. If getting multiples of one species better get minimum of 3-5 ea to end up with a female.

2 e. sp red and the pulchra is def your best bet

I wouldn't leave the 'Chaco', G.pulchripes, out of the league.

  11. My suggestion.

    1. E.sp red(25$), 1. G pulchra(50$), 1. G pulchripes(25$)

    Or 4 G. Pulchripes.

    or 2. E. sp Red + 1 G Pulchra

But i am a huuuuge fan of the Pulchripes and would suggest one of them. and the pulchra and the Red's are also very beautiful.
any of those 3 would be great imo.

    Personally I would get a G. pulchripes, E.sp red, and G. pulchra.
BUT it is ultimately up to you.
However - I wouldn't purchase two of the same species un-sexed.

i'd go with pulchra and emilia :)

    That's a narrow list. ;)
Is it limited by what's available, or what you want?

Purchasing multiples of one species is the easiest way to maximize chances of getting a female when you're buying spiderlings.

its limited to what i want lol

BUT it is also a quick way to spend a lot of money and STILL not get what you want.

additional info: E sp red is 1/4 in (quite small and i read that it is slow growing)
    G pulchra is 3/4 in
    G pulchripes is 1/2 in

i am rethinking the E sp red because it is so small and a slow grower, but i don't know if i'll come across a subadult or adult anytime soon.
right now, the G pulchra is for sure

I'd personally get an emelia and 2 pulchripes.

Huh? Buying multiples is what you want to do with unsexed slings....its how you increase your odds of getting a female...at a lower cost than purchasing an adult female.

Depends on the species - for the ones listed you could easily get a female for the price of 2-4 slings.
