Great eaters, faster growth...skittish, but not defensive. Pre-molt they can look terrible, all beat up almost...post molt, they're stunning and velvety looking. Many talk of them burrowing and hiding a lot...My 2 have never burrowed much at all. I keep part of the sub damp, and let it dry out completely between dampenings.
I've really wanted B. cabocla for some time now, perhaps my next T- so I can't speak from experience. But what I've heard, and don't quote me on this- I don't even remember where I got this info from, is that like cold blood said they will burrow given the chance. Also that they're tolerant of moist and dry conditions and individuals have been observed favoring dry over moist substrate or vice versa. So I would try keeping part of the sub moist and part dry and see what happens, perhaps it has something to do with the keeper's climate.
I just got one that was in premolt, and yeah, it looked like hell, but it sure cleaned up nice post-molt. It seemed to prefer dryer substrate, and clung to the walls until I sprinkled a bunch of dry peat on top of the damp substrate she came with.
Mine's female too about 1.75"
Mine is about an inch now and is a total pet hole, no visible entrances but it sure can find it's prey. I've seen it out once since I've had it. I keep part of the sub damp.
