Hi! This is my beloved Brachypelma klaasi sling! His/her abdomen looks fairly big and I'm not sure if this is a premolt or is it just because I overfed her somehow. I feed her prekilled mealworms that are cut to about the size of her abdomen. I feed them once a week. My G. pulchripes sling does not have that big of an abdomen.

Is the abdomen as dark as it looks in that photo? If so, that means she is in pre-molt.

I didn't notice how light its abdomen can go so I'm not really sure if it got darker. It's not as dark as my G. pulchripes though. My G. pulchripes molted around 2 weeks ago and it has a fairly dark abdomen too. Here she is.

The black skin and shiny stretched out look the abdomen has are giveaways of heavy pre-molt.

And for the record, you cannot over-feed a sling.
