I have a problem. Last night I had some friends over and they were handling my ball python. One of them saw a very small white thing climbing on him. I thought it might be critters in his substrate, so today I bathed him changed his substrate and bleached out his viv. Then I go to clean my B. latteralis and I find these tiny little white things, they are so small I didn't see them at first, they look like little grains of sand, except they move. I got out my magnifying glass and looked but all I could tell was that they are not any kind of worm or larve.
What are these things? Are they dangerous to my snake, my roaches, or my T's who eat the roaches? How do I get rid of them? Can anyone help?

hmm they are probly mites but unless you can get a pic up i cannot tell
they are probly from feeder mice/rats on substrate in your snake cage
or if you throw the lateralis food right on the substrate
could be good or bad depends on what type it is
when i get mites i clean all the tanks near the effected animal(s)

thanx froggy

There is no way I can get a picture of these things. They are the size of a grain of sand.
