Sorry for posting this here, but my photos will not upload in the ID section.

Just curious because it was sold to me as Aphonopelma sp. "El Paso"
She molted last night and now I am clueless. Kind of reminds me of eutylenum, but carapace is throwing me off, so are the stripes on the patella and tibia, and the enormous size of her chelicerae.

I know its a shot in the dark, but its worth a try to try to get an ID.

I do not know where the previous owner got it from, but I'd imagine it was collected near the El Paso area.

I'm far from an Aphonopelma expert, but the triangle and legs makes me think of iodius.

iodius is found only here in Utah, as far as I know.
The location is was collected from was an assumption (or guess), and certainly not sounding too definitive....coulda come from just about anywhere.

It does have some seriously large chelicerae.

Hmm interesting. Well regardless of whatever it is, more pics will be added in a few days. It has darkened up substantially.

Ok folks. Now. She's hardered up and feisty. But I have never seen an Aphono look like this. What do you think??

It has been ID'd as a mature female Aphonopelma gabeli. Or like mentioned, Carlsbad green :)
