Saw some type of ant a while back..called velvet ant..they were yellow/black in color..wanted to kno if they were still around..and wat they range in price..

velvet "ants" are actually a type of female wingless wasp. cow killer is also another of many names for them, named for their pretty tough sting. you can find them in arid places running around like mad.

You'll probably have a hard time finding them for sale unless you can get somebody to go catch some for you. They have a complicated life cycle that is very difficult (impossible even?) to replicate in captivity.

They lay their eggs in pupae of certain other ground dwelling bees and wasps. If you have "apple wasps" where you are start looking around the ground for them. They like to burrow under the edge of sidewalks for some reason.
