I got some androctonus sp. But not sure if they're bicolor or crassicauda. Any help will be appreciated, Thanks.

there's a post in this forum somewhere that highlights the differences between the two. you might want to try a search. if you still can't find it, i'll look when i get back. had to do with counting ridges on the tail segments or something iirc?

Thanks Widowman10. Did try a search, all point out to A. bicolor. But still, i like to be sure.

Here's a closer picture

i'd say juvenile a.bicolor.

btw, im wondering if you still keep the scorpion with the wet substrate...i hope you've changed it.

Yep, metasomal carinae and shape and size of the chela indicates A.bicolor.
A.crassicauda has more bulbous pedipalps and different carinae on the metasoma, it also lacks the reddish fingers your specimen (and other A.bicolors) have.

Such a beautiful scorp. Where did you get it?

NICE!!! I'm currently also waiting for my shipment of A.Mauritanicus. I recently picked up 6 3rd instar scorplings. :D
I would definitely want to get other species of Androctonus in the future.
