‘Heavy-Gauge’ PVC and soldering iron?

Might be a simple question, but would a soldering iron be able to make ‘clean’ holes through heavy-gauge PVC? Have an enclosure idea. Thanks

any reason you cant just try with a leftover piece?
It was supposed to be a clear box that I had to have special ordered to the store, but after talking to a couple employees today turns out it’s not as ‘heavy-gauge’ as the name implied. An employee once punctured one with their finger...well there goes that display idea...

Don't forget that PVC releases toxic gases - don't do this indoors, and PVC is quite flammable.
