Article from Yahoo! oddly enuf news.
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Tarantulas can produce silk from spigots on their feet as well as from their abdominal spinnerets, a finding that could help explain why spiders began to spin silk in the first place...

In my early years of being in the hobby I made the HUGE mistake of keeping a kingsnake and two cornsnakes together. It lasted for about 6 months and guess what happened?
I learned a HUGE lesson that day!
Well since we are on snake feeding pics, I want to get involved one!
Here is "Mini-Mi" Eating her first 12 pound rabbit. She is in her feeding Tank:
I was looking for more but cant seam to find and more on my website!
I remember a while back alot of people on here gave me ALOT of grief about buying a baby sulcata!
To this day I love all of them! I own 3 now! Two adults and one juvi!
In the winter time they free roam the house with a pen to go into at night!
I totally disagree with Galapoheros about...
Well then you should be part of a capture and release program designed to identify the species and safely return it to its proper home...Kinda like Jeff Corwin

Jesus reading this post made my eyes hurt..you will always get a mixture of advice when it comes to gator species...I will have to agree with what people say about "Gators dont make good pets", So far my society had to rescue 3 american alligators, when you think about it thats pretty sad...

well all I can say is "Stupid Focker" if you payed attention to the end of the video it looked like he pulled the B.P off of his skin, most likely rippin a tooth or two out. I hope a tooth is still lodged in his skin and causes irritation for years...

I will have to agree with a BCI (Me personally will spend the extra money for a BCC) But one piece of advice I would like to give. If getting a BCI you might want to consided a bigger enclosure to you can set up a realistic habitat for the new snake. I love it when people take the time to set up...
If you are serious about your collection (If you have one) I would not suggest putting anything wild caught in the same room as the others. Wild caught species are actually more work than they are worth. With all the possible vet bills, medications and bites to your hands, arms and face..it just...
Beutiful boa and nice markings..I cant wait til next season when I can start breeding all my boas specially my Hoggy!

Theres always pros and cons to owning species that you can or cannot supply proper diets for...But always remember the cons 99.9% of the time outweight the pro's. Look all over the internet for breeders that actually carry the specified food source for the species at hand. Of course you will pay...
i havent seen them, would like to. I just heard about it from the pet store guy because my husband was helping him do his store order LOL. Maybe I'll contact the guy and see if I can get pictures. I'll post em then.
