    Beginner Poecilotheria

I'm going to assume they don't like it lol. Probably similar to a human: cramps, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, blurred vision, muscle twitching, fever, sweating etc. There was an obt bite report on a cat that said it had vomiting and suspected pain. I'm surprised the cat lived considering what...

They really are. I love it on my c fim. She is one of the most interestingly colored tarantulas I've seen.

I clearly can't read then lol. I just like chromatus because of the colors. The genus in general doesn't interest me all the much. White carapaces really get me :)

No sir! The colors, the attitude, the things they build are all amazing. Not too keen on their bites but that didn't stop me. Nothing like a tiny ezendami asking for a hug to brighten your day :giggle:

Ignorance, curiosity, intoxication, attempt to educate. There's a million reasons but they shouldn't be handled. I thought my p fascista was a calm girl until she wasnt (I was not handling her). They're too unpredictable to get comfortable around.

I agree with this 147%. They have a right to know about an animal this venomous living in their home. They'd need to know as much as you do about the behavior of the spider, what to expect from a bite, etc. Because god forbid the thing gets out when you aren't home. You're gonna have one pissed...

Looks, when I started I was concerned with experience but not so much now, and cost. I prefer pokies and African species. So they make up the majority of my purchases as of late.

    Is this "pre-molt" behavior?

mine went like a year without eating lol. +1 to everyone else. Webs are their dinner tables, beds, walls, triplines, and a way to get familiar and feel out the environment. No tarantula should be fed everyday. All the behaviors listed are normal. If it starts barking at you, then I'd worry :).

    Question

Many have observed this with their rose hairs. Mine does the same thing. It's not a problem. She actually patiently waits until the dish will dry up (which takes a day, it is refilled daily) so she can plop her fat self in there. I might just get her a dish to sit in lol.

    A Good Display Tarantula?

Yeah I know it is. Shes VERY skittish. Flicks hair at her food half the time. She's not a good hunter lol. ---------- Post added 04-15-2015 at 02:15 PM ---------- She was on crickets when I bought her. When she will take food I make sure it's a bigger meal. She's just a weirdo. I...

She gets multiple crickets when she decides to eat. Roach colony is still in the making lol. I try superworms here and there if she'll take it. More fat.

Well ya see, the trade off is mine never eats lol. Shell only take food like every two weeks.

    A Good Display Tarantula?

Shes 5 inches and webbed everything up thick in a day... I was like..... omg. I wonder what they're thinking when they just keep going. She webs the entire inside of her hide too but never really uses it. webs the top of the container, her water dish. I'm surprised she hasn't webbed herself yet lol

    A Good Display Tarantula?

Yup! Mine will go into her hide for a few hours randomly but other than that she just webs her web all day lol.
