    Bone Dry Peat

The lamp is to try and make day and night seem more realistic for the T I guess. As I walk in and out of my room, I turn the main light on and off. I also have a roommate that does the same. Having the lamp kinda helps it not change from "day" to "night" a bunch of times per day.

    Bone Dry Peat

I have a smithi that I keep in something similar to a KK. A couple of times I would overfill the waterdish a little by accident and it would take a long time to dry out. And on one occasion it grew some mold. So, i figured the plastic lid wasnt giving me enough ventilation. I then made a...

    Molt in hide

My T has been hiding in its coconut shell for a couple of weeks now. Everyonce in a while, I do my best of looking inside to make sure everything is going okay, assuming that there would be a molt soon. Well as of today, I found out that it finally molted :D. Anyways, my question is if i...

I tried looking around, but havent quite found a definative answer yet? After how long or maybe the question is how big is a T no longer considered a sling? And while on the subject (im think this is related) could someone explain what is meant by "instar"? Thanks

    Misfortune strikes twice...

:?how long before you left did you kill the cricket? I dont know much about maggots, but I would be surprised to hear that maggots appear and then do that much damage in only two days. Maybe they were already in the soil before you left??:? I dunno...sorry about the loss though:(

    Substrate

I got a b.smithi about two weeks ago and got a housing from the same dealer. The housing was already set up with substrate about 2" deep in some areas and about 1.5" in others. I put in a waterdish, a fake plant, and a half coconut shell in the with the T and it seems to be working out good...

    Signs of being too cold?

I was just wandering what behavior a T will show if its too cold? I just got a b.smithi last week and the guy I bought it from said that room temperature should be just fine. The temperature here is generally from 70-75 F in the day and 65-70 F at night with the windows usually open. I...
