All of your conditions sound good. Although, in my experience, the oak leaves are not entirely necessary as I have seen my millis mate many times with no leaves present. I never had to try anything special with mine to get them to mate, perhaps I accidentally got all of my conditions right the...
I certainly love the idea of the centipede hobby expanding. But, I believe that Roaches will be the next big thing in the invert hobby. (Although they are pretty popular already.) When I began collecting, roaches were the farthest thing from my mind, now they are some of my favorites.:)
as an update, I have my 2 AGBs living in there, I put some fake plants and rotting wood. They climb quite a bit more now, but deep down I wish I could be entirely sure that the subspinipes wouldn't escape, I would rather watch him climb all day. But the millis seem to be happy.:o
I agree with everyone in saying that they are very beautiful and wouldn't mind getting some myself:drool: . Has anyone ever tried asking Petco to special order animals?
I would like to mention that I have been keeping this subspinipes for quite a long time now, and I appreciate the help. Honestly, he is in a 20 gallon tank at the moment with clamps on the screen, and I know about the proper care, It just happens to be my favorite invert and I think he would...
well, I guess I should mention that I live on my own. I'm not hiding a centipede under my bed or anything, but if I told my mom I wanted the terrarium to house a venomous centipede, she would probably just buy me a sweater for christmas.:D
Thank you for your help. I look forward to watching my pede crawl around that false backround.
Plus, My mom has never seen a centipede before (card carrying bug hater). She thinks I'm putting frogs in there, I'll try to snap pics of my mom's face when I introduce her to my subspinipes.:D
Do any of you keep your centipedes in these types of terrariums? I believe I'm getting one for the holidays and I'm just not sure if it's secure enough for my subspinipes. And if you don't keep your centipedes in these, do any of you keep other inverts in these types of terrariums? thanks in...
This is the movie with the GIANT centipede. Although I knew it was going to be cheap and full of scientific innacuracies, I rented it anyways.:wall: I was right, and I have a feeling the real experts on this board would catch more of the bogus info than me. Truly a waste of time, I would...
a few pointers:
1.Make sure you pair is about the same size, the female usually won't give any attention to a male that is considerably shorter, and vice versa.
2.My millis seem to "get in the mood" when I use an undertank heater, but I know a lot of people don't use them, but it's cold...
I bought my Millis a 10 gallon at Petco for about ten bucks and if you dont have much decor in the tank you may not even have to buy a screen top, although, watching mine climb upside down on the screen all day can be entertaining.
Happy to be here
Hello, I have been a fan of the site for a long time now, and I guess it was about time to join up, I will most likely be hanging around the myriapod forum, but I do have some other cool inverts as well, I will see you on the boards.
hello everyone
My name is Andy. I'm a big fan of all "bugs" but my real interest is the myriapods. It's great to know that there are many knowledgable people on this board to talk to, I look forward to it.
