I love these containers - have several of my juvenile terrestrials in them. Since they stack nicely, I burn my holes in the sides, front and back. Plus I think they're only a couple bucks each. I don't know how many holes total, it varies with whatever T is in there, and I try to make an...
I use PVC pipe often - especially the black. All my T's have utilized them. I bury an elbow or an s-curve in the substrate with moss and other decor around. My burrowers usually web them up quickly and then I never see them again, lol. But they're happy, right?
I received a spider in this container and I'd like to find more. I thought it might be an Exo Terra but there are no markings and pics/listings of Exo Terras don't have this one. Any ideas?
I have a 55-gal container of soil mix that I use for my plants and my T's. I mix it myself and it contains cheap potting soil, coco fiber, bark pieces (small), moss, sand, and our own compost. Never any mold, T's and plants are all happy.
My burrowers are in tall, narrow containers with several inches of substrate. They have tunnels that I can see but they web them so a flashlight is reflected. I just assume seeing a burrower is a rare and special occurence. [emoji4]
I started a H. villosella communal about a month ago with 6,-1" slings in a 2 gal. container. Each has their own little territory, either a webbed up area in a cork log or a web burrow into the substrate. I count them every couple days and they're all alive. So far, so good. Will keep everyone...
Adult w/c (I'm sure) G. rosea, unsure of sex, but I called it, " Igor." Let's see, I think it was 1970. Seems like yesterday...[emoji6] Kept it in the Biology room at school - I was not allowed to have it at home.
You might have better luck in your search after dark with a flashlight when it tends to be more active. Like already mentioned, I'd seal the room, keep the cats out, and give it some time before resorting to an insecticide. (Unbeknownst to me, one of my slings escaped through a vent hole. It...
I have a huge, old E. camp that appears to be in pre-molt. (Bald patches on abdomen have turned black, hasn't eaten in some time, etc.) I'm concerned about her coming through it successfully. Is there anything I can do to help assure this? Her water bowl is full and temps are in the mid-70's...
I went. And I'm done. So many people I could hardly get near any of the exhibits/vendors. Only saw a couple of sellers with tarantulas, maybe there were more but I don't do well in those kinds of crowds. I hope they consider a much larger venue next time.
