Well...I forgot to say they are like 14cm for sure in legspawn, maybe even more. They are not at my facility. We had 3 slings around the same size one is now mature male and two are looking like this in picture. They are staying at friend and he think they are females,by looking at their moults...
Does anyone know at what size L.violaceopes females get blue coloration? I have 2 specimens that were sexed by a friend as females and they are not blue yet. The third sling matured as male from same eggsack and is same in size. Anyway here is the picture:

Well, there is no chance it wont smell like there are some animals in even if you clean them. I clean mine all the time and there are so many that it must smell different...you can't clean 7 species of insects, 300 t's, 40 lizards and African rats that often that you don't have any smell, so in...
I did never try anything before cose I didn't have similar situation...I would give it a try, you think it can neutralize smells and odors of animals by just being put around the room? Did you try it?
I have problem with smell in my breeding room where I have lizards/tarantulas/scorps and many,many insects. I would like to push some thing for refreshing the air and maybe lower the smell a bit, but I don't know what can be harmfull for my critters...any ideas or suggestions?

Just wanted to tell that now, few months after this thread, my colony is again doing great and there are many nymphs that already matured and breed again. They key was, as usual, just clean and monitor the colony for dead ones and remove them. It was pain in the ass to remove all of them few...

How big was your female? Do you mist often when she made a sack to keep it humid enough? How many days you left the sack with the female before pulling it out?

I am getting some pretty soon. I heard some oposite tips...some say keep them moist some dry. What do you guys keep yours? I heard they eat little and that they like rotten woods and sort of forest mix of leaves etc. Like to burrow and grow very slowly...how long it takes for ootheca to hatch...
That unidentified species is surely from genus Phormictopus and I have one adult female P.auratus that's looking like that if she is labeled right. Btw. great pictures.
