Thanks for the responses. I've been keeping emperors, flatrocks and desert hairys. I think I'm ready for an egyptian green now. As long as its not deadly I'm ok with it
I have the oppourtunity to buy an egyptian green (Buthacus leptochelys). I havent been able to find anything definate about their venom potency. Does anybody have any info?
I've had dead hissing roaches covered with those little white mites. But I dont think the mites killed them. I think they just dog pile on the body to feed after it is already dead. I havent seen many on the living roaches and the only ones that have died have been large adults, probaly of...
I was wondering if a salt wheel (like the type used for hamsters) could be placed in a hermit crab cage as a replacement for having salt water avaliable in the tank. Just an idea. Wondering what everyone else thinks
Tyrel, do you have more than one scorp in a single enclosure? That's another thing I was wondering about. All the literature says to keep hadogenes seperate, but I have heard that some people have had no problems with keeping them in a communal set up.
I just got a troglodytes this week. I havent found much info in any literature about the proper climate for them. Every source I find only says "Keep them dry" and 75 to 80 degrees. I currently have his tank with a bottom layer of rock and a top layer of coconut and sand. Does anyone have...
I've also seen this with a troglodytes that i just brought home the other day. I shuffled him out of the deli cup that the pet store had put him in and he flopped over right onto his back. Legs even curled in a little like a dead spider. I poked him and he barely moved. I turned him back over...
We used to do that in my herpetology class. We would check them about 3 times a week because we had them set up way outside of town. But if you have it set up somewhere close to home, I would check it daily
yeah, they are the best place in town to get exotics. but i've heared that there is alot of confusion with identifying pedes and i wanna be as sure as possible about what i'm getting. But the prices are good. Might give the rainbow a shot and see if it gets any bigger
I'll have to check with the pet store again about if they know the country of origin. But at such a cheap price, I was thinking that they wont get much bigger
Does anyone reccognize this guy? There are for sale at the local pet store and I'm wondering what they are and if they are gonna get any bigger. They're about 2 inches now and being sold as "rainbow centipedes" for $15.
I've seen those pics with the soldier a few years ago. But i've never seen this website. I'm sure there are tons of people who have never heard of a camel spider and would probaly belive this. But I dont think anyone would be dumb enough to pay $30 for one of those t-shirts!
That's definately a different species from mine. Mine was bought as a tanzinian blue ring (Scolopendra morsitans). The terminal legs on yours are alot longer than mine
