Got 4 spiders a few weeks ago from a family who didnt know what they were doing. One was a beautiful (I thought) C. lividus. She has a monsterous tumor on her book lung area. I dont know what it is. I bought it for a cool breeding project.
Yeah I just backed out. He doesn’t know when it matured and thinks I’m lying to him about it being male, I didn’t even offer him less money just told him that it was a male.
The deal was 150 for the P. cancerides, the G. pulchripes, and the Dubia colony (the lp is gone). I already have a pulchripes I was mostly interested in the P. cancerides and figured the Dubia colony and the pulchripes would just be icing on the cake. I was just confused by it.

Is the P. cancerides male or female? It says it 7 inches so according to the research I’ve done it says that’s about their max size so I’d imagine it’s mature but I thought females were a lot less purple. I don’t see any hooks or anything...
why are MM so rare? I’ve been looking for one for a while and can’t find one. Seems pretty common to find slings and females I wouldn’t think it would be an issue finding a male. Is there some kinda ban on the species or some factor that I’m not aware of that makes them rare?
hottentota isn’t deadly it’s venomous and very painful to be stung by. Recorded fatalities doesn’t make an animal deadly necessarily (bees kill people every year because of allergic reactions). Reading your responses though leads me to think you should hold off. I keep lots of tarantulas and...
I bought it yesterday while I was getting feeders and looking for a female H. arizonensis. The pet store had it marked as a female flat rock. I’ve thought they looked cool for a while so I bought it. I thought the only species that was kept in the hobby was H. troglodytes, so I just want to...
When I went to transfer the new T. stirmi saw how messed up the cage was it was mud with a bit of moss thrown on top. The lady said she molted 2 months ago and was “due to molt again” because of the hairs flicked off. If you look at the pictures it looks kinda weird, I’m wondering if the...
Bought MF C. darlingi, C. lividus, S. calceatum, and a T. stirmi late last night after work (for 300 bucks!) when I got them home realized a few husbandry issues in the S. calceatum and the T. stirmi’s enclosures. Got home after work and shopping for new cages went to get the calceatum out of...
got a female stirmi last night she’s mature and awesome looking but the people I bought it from said it molted 2-4 months ago but was due for another one? How often do they molt as adults? I know they grow a lot but that’s seems excessive.
i bought some new T’s from some local today. They came with two glass enclosures.... I kinda like them but what is a “bug friendly” way to get the calcium stuff off of the side? Just water? Or is there a better treatment?
lol we started that 6 years ago lol
I actually sold my MM GBB lol I would be into your OBT but I just spent 300 on a bunch of new tarantulas today lol.
