    H. Spinifer emergency

Hey, Any updates on the poor H.spinifer you ecieved with the broken arm? it doing any better now? I had a similar situation with an O.Glabrifons, eventually it removed the damaged limb on its own. Its a shame scorpions dont share the same ability of growing back limbs like spiders, etc...

sicarius terrosus (six eyed sand spider)

Hi there, I had no idea that they had changed the spiders latin name. Did they rename it or was it simply that the majority in the hobby were actually this new species you mention and not the 'terrosus'? but yeah, other than the hot venom, dont think they could be easier to keep! from what ive...

sicarius terrosus (six eyed sand spider)

Hi there, I purchased mine from a local reptile breeder/shop. they have all sorts of exotics from DWA to your usual bearded dragons. Mine cost me £39.99 for a sub-adult (not sure on sex yet) and it molted the night before and ate that week. so clearly in good health. They still have 3 more...

sourcing scolopendra galapagoensis or scolopendra gigantea

Don't suppose anyone can point me in the right direction as to where i can purchase either of these species of centipede. Been after these two species for years. Although my favourite species is the scolopendra hardwickei, i think once i get hold of one of these, that'll change very quickly...

    SURPRISE BABIES! help?

I purchased a female Opistophthalmus Glabrifons (shiny burrowing scorpion) a few months ago and all has been great and she settled in fine. I havent had a single issue with my little beauty until today. Came home from college to find a small group of babies on her back. I had no idea she was...

The mighty escape of my Scolopendra Hardwickei

He completely misrepresented the animals in this interview... He was uncaring for its well being and he was quite frankly bit of a dick.... for a start he was wearing sunglasses inside.

    centipede info wanted

As said below, S. gigantea and S.galapagoensis are the biggest species but personally i think S. galapagoensis is a better looking species. By far the most beautiful species is the S. hardwickei. Bright orange bands mixed with black and they grow to about 8 inches. All three of these species are...

The mighty escape of my Scolopendra Hardwickei

ah i see, never the less, cheers. From the information i can find on them they sound like a nice species. Im bit of a mix, started out with some bigger species and am now hoping to broaden my collection. Bigger the 'pede the better temper ive noticed (normally). Ive been trying to get my hands...

The mighty escape of my Scolopendra Hardwickei

Im hoping to get some of those soon. The plan is to get a nice collection going and then have a go at breeding some 'pedes, especially as they seem to be becoming more popular. Cheers, i shall look into the differences and yes, id say the hardwickei is the sunseeker of the 'pede world. (not sure...

South American centipede, "as long as a man's forearm"

They truly are stunning and interesting creatures. couldnt be much more of a perfect evolutionary marvel. They're are both fascinating to own as their behaviour is completely different to that of any other critter ive owned and personally i think, they're strangely beautiful. No collection is...

The mighty escape of my Scolopendra Hardwickei

dogs are actually quite handy it seems, from the sense of they alert us when somethings wrong. Cant imagine a cat be of any use. Only potentially harming the animals. Ive never actually owned a subsnipes species. would any of you recommend them? i know they're the most commonly kept 'pede but...

The mighty escape of my Scolopendra Hardwickei

It is possible but i doubt it. My dog, rightly so, wouldn't go near it. Again, he wouldn't of been able to get anywhere near the terrarium, as its my pride of the collection, it sits on my work desk and has a solid lid fixture. There was no one in the house when it escaped (other than the other...
