    Millipede availability and regulation

Hi Everyone, it's been over a decade since I've been closely involved with millipedes in the hobby world. I've heard rumors that these are now USDA regulated? I'm wondering 1. Are they in fact USDA regulated now? If so, what restrictions apply? 2. Which species are commonly available...

Hi all-- wondering what exactly the legality of keeping Panchlora nivea and Eurycotis decipiens in CA is. There is a list of insects that are LEGAL to import into CA, which these species do not appear on, however I am interested to know if these species were obtained from a seller WITHIN...

    Escape proof roach containers

For these guys I prefer a bucket style cage. It consists of a 'painters bucket' with a tight fitting lid. You then cut a hole in the top and cover it with microscreen (and hot glue it into place). For additional reassurance you can put a 2" barrier of vasoline around the top edge. I started...

    Silkworm food recipe

you should be able to order agar through almost any biological lab supply company. It is quite common. Agar is used in tomato hornworm lab diets as well. I suspect this is a primary ingredient in the silkworm chow because you are supposed to boil it first....that is how agar is prepped.

    Corydia (therea) petriveriana- domino roach

This species is a polyphagid roach and thus takes a very long time to mature. I keep my colony on a damp peat/coco bedding substrate with dead oak leaves mixed in. For shelter I provide corkbark. I keep them 89 degrees on the hot side of the enclosure and 75 on the cool end. For food I...

Need help with therea petiveriana husbandry

I have had great breeding success with this species. I'll describe my rearing conditions for you. I'm sure others have had success using other methods but this has worked for my colony: I rear mine in sweater box racks with heat tape down the back. The rear portion of the container gets about...

What Roach Species Do You Keep?

I'm still establishing the Deropeltis. I received some large nymphs not too long ago and nearly all are adults now. Crested feeding question

Geckos that are not raised on the Repashy superfoods diet often need some time to adjust to it. Mixing it with babyfood is fine short term, but eventually the goal should be to only feed them the diet so as to have a nutritionally balanced diet. Another option is to purchase the new BASE/FLAVOR...
