Ohh ahh ouch woo gaa #@$*&%

Venomous snakes, especially placid ones have this way of reminding you they are dangerous. The scar on my leg from a Puff Adder bite does a good job of reminding me. Even if she is used to shows, if you startle her, she will strike. And you too will have a lasting reminder.

Ohh ahh ouch woo gaa #@$*&%

A hook-and-tail on a viper is not safe handling mate. Grabbing a viper by the tail effectively puts you within strike range. Besides, there's no need to tail a Copperhead. Rides a hook like it was born to.

    Ball Python enclosure questions.

Guys, slow down a bit. He gave his opinion, and whether you agree with it or not, its still his opinion. He can either learn from other people's advice or he can't. But by starting an argument he most certainly won't learn anything from what you have to say. K-train, herpetology is not...

    Ball Python enclosure questions.

The best you can do is learn from its natural history. Its cage setup with temps and humidity should be similar to the area in which it is found :)

    Snouted Cobra

For a good starter Elapid, Snouties and Monocled cobras. For a good starter venomous, a Copperhead is not a bad choice. For a good starter snake, a RTB or a corn snake.

    Snouted Cobra

You don't get stupid questions mate, only stupid answers. Snouted Cobras have a rather potent neurotoxin, with some cytotoxic effects at the bite site. A large Snouted Cobra has a massive yield as well. So yes, a bite from a Snouted Cobra is a definite medical emergency, and could (without...

    New to hott snakes

Firstly, to make your findings viable, you need to make a GPS log (its how we have to do it here). Secondly, important findings are possible prey items and the sex of the animal caught. These are very important factors when studying a wildlife population. What I used to do, is taking a small...

    Snouted Cobra

Unfortunately, yes. A puff adder, a boomslang and a rinkhals. The puff adder bite happened through absolute complacency and a belief in my own immortality. The snake in question was a five footer used for milking. The snake was always sedate, and you kinda get used to it doing nothing. One...
