blue fangs breeding...didnt catch the insert, too fast then the male took off running heh
MMs...no inserts yet, proving to be difficult so far! female *might* be needing a molt, looking kinda brown.
c.elegans...introduced to my two small females, they both chased him away. my...
thanks :alien:
Najakeeper, the price range varies, on my hatchlings between 30-200 depending on the morph. the dreamcicles are the higher end of things that i pop. some morphs out there still market in the 800+ range though, bust most of those are either the latest and greatest or superb line...
my experience over the last 3ish years...
they do indeed mature very fast, 1-2 years if fed well for BOTH sexes. the females will drop a sac as small as 3.5", though the sacs (in general) are very small. also they are very very tricky to get to hatch and at least form what i gather, i believe...
some of the hatchlings from this year ...pardon the long silly names, such is the leopard gecko hobby!

they can drop a sac after every molt cycle. typically a female T will lay one sac and then molt some time after. some can drop multiple sacs in a single "season" (ive had a p.irminia triple clutch, all 3 were good)
new breeding project...c.leetzi (with Cori's MMs)
no inserts seen so far
c.theveneti FINALLY added to the collection!
locale unknown...c.longitarsis
last shot of this girl before her new owner pics her up :alien:...down to two!
super irminia molted, now black, third...
thanks!
fresh molt female m.mesomelas. moving her to a bigger cage with deep substrate for a breeding attempt next month. male matured about 2 weeks ago, shes a little bigger but still on the small side (i think). we'll see how it goes. one of my favorites.
p.cancerides breeding
is it super tiny? try fruit flies, theyre small and move a lot, i havnt had a sling refuse them, if it takes em stuff it full and then try offering it other food items again, they seem to burn up the feul they get from FFs faster than from other bugs.
aw bummer, that sucks, seems to be a common occurance for some reason with this species. did you get a head count on that sac? was it humid-ish or dry? did they make it past the molt or die before?
thanks!
from what i can see in the pic, two on the left have molted (legs are longer and less "balloon animal" looking) while the other two are still nymphs. im dying to know how many are in there! couldnt me more than 20ish i dont think, the sac was small. also the nymphs are tiny, about half...
just sharing :alien:
at the start of this project 2ish years ago i had 1.4.2 of this species, later that changed to 0.5.0, and currently just 0.3.0 (sold some girls). this is the first 'project' ive ever really started with Ts, i like to have one of each, but with these i felt buying a bunch...
big money
freshly molted female m.balfouri, IMO the nicer looking of the two blue spiders :alien:
greenie
the super irminia again
b.vagans...bred almost a year ago, got HUGE...now sitting in the cool room for the winter, fingers crossed she either molts or drops a sac in...
i've heard of the mix for a few years at least (as said, albovagans), i wouldn't call it new. i personally own two of the little abominations, i'm curious to see what they look like as they grow, they seem to eat, molt, grow (slowly) just fine.
breeding for increased size IMO not like hybridization at all. its still the same species...just bigger.
the main problem i see is that t.blondi are not commonly bred nor an easy species to breed to begin with. that and it would take many years to even see the max size the first generation...
best. thread. ever.
anyways, nice cages, im sure whatever you put in there will be happy. are you having any mold problems?
if i were to reccomend anything for the empty tank id say lampropelma violaceopes, or c.schioedtei....both are good size, and my two girls are usualy out in the open...
it will work, rinse them out well first.
i know for BIG fish large rubbermaids are great is you dont want to drop 2k on a new monster system, though its more of a pond set up, u can get rubbermade troughs that are like 300 gallons for $150ish.
also, i have seen rack systems built out of...
one of the roseas ive owned for 3 years has only eaten like...3 or 4 times in those three years. she went one year solid without food, then ate twice and since then maybe one other time.
