Haha, this is what made me get more! I couldn't imagine only having 1 T to watch eat, molt and do it's thing.

how to manage good ventilation with high humidity?

Good ventilation and letting the soil somewhat dry out between waterings will help prevent mold, fungus, and bug problems. Remember that your live plants are going to help with humidity a bit. With my avics I'll moisten the sub and let it dry out a bit before I do it again. At that age/size I...

Picked this T up for $25! Now what is it?

That's a great deal! I've wanted a PZB for awhile now too. Lucky! I agree it looks like a female. (even luckier) :)

    A Change of Heart

Well I think it's awesome that you want to keep them :) Your little Avic probably won't shoot poo at you for no reason all on his/her own. You'd have to be harrassing it somehow, maybe holding it. I've had my T's for more than a few years now and I still get scared or surprised or whatever...

    What's this?

Oh man! I suppose fertilizer is a possibillity... :( That's horrible! There is a small amount of substrate in there that has some perlite mixed in. It must have been some potting soil mix.. The rest is regular old peat moss.. I can't remember when how or why! Well, no worries I don't...

    What's this?

I found these while doing some cleaning. Haven't seen this before. There was an uneaten juvenile dubia and an uneaten B. lateralis in her cage. T is a virgin B. emilia.. There was dried up, what looks like spider poo, inside these, But why the shell?? There was the one bigger one and 2...

    Goodbye, Crickets!!

I wish I could be rid of crickets! I have both lateralis and dubia colonies myself. But geez I have a couple T's that are diehard cricket fans! Guess I'll try crushing the roach's head next time.

What's your FAVORITE Aphonopelma species, and why???

Very good point. I would not want to support the dessimation of our wild populations. I've raised every one of the T's I have, besides a rosea and a large female albopilosum. I have nooo problem growing a T for 10 years lol.

    Favorite Jewel ?

Polls are fun! I chose versicolors, but maybe I should've chose other. The big female P. irminia I have is always the one I'm looking for in my collection. She only comes out to display herself when she's hungry and it's usually in the middle of the night. She's absolutely beautiful though.

    so i had a thought.

I agree with this, as long as the environment is working with them.
